NGO Lifeline of EstoniaLifeline as helping service center was created by Estonian-Swedish Suicide Institute director, Airi Värnik in 1996. And since spring in 1997 Estonia helping-center Lifeline is Befrienders International fully qualified member (The Samaritans). Since 04.08.1997 is Estonian helping center Lifeline independent juridical unit - nonprofit organization Lifeline. Lifeline services: 1. Estonian Lifeline phone number: 6558088 2. Russian Lifeline phone number: 6555688 Work every night since 7 PM till 7 AM Estonian Lifeline has in 2004 112 volunteers and Russian Lifeline has 50 volunteers. Lifeline work is supported by private-sponsors. 3. Psychological crisis and drug-addiction consulting service for citizens. Tallinn City Government Social healthcare and social care board buys psychological crisis and drug-addiction consulting service for citizens. Service is in Russian and in Estonian Psychological crisis center working everyday from 9 IS to 8 PM, except Sundays. There are working 12 psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists. 4. Family-consulting and therapy services. (Buys Tallinn City Government Social healthcare and social care board) Works 3 family therapists. 5.Drugs-info and consulting phone number is 1707 Works 24 hours in day. In 2004 were added HIV and AIDS consulting. There are working 12 psychologists and 30 volunteers. 6. In 2004 Lifeline began co-operate with Finnish- Pro-Supporting-center to start preparation for Drop-in center building. Drop-in center is meant for people who are involved in sexual services. Sponsor is HUUTA project. Lifeline is biggest non-profit-organization in psychological and emotional help field in Estonia. |
